portabit peccatum puerorum is Frances's 2020 menswear collection that focussed on isolating and bastardising the institutions that promote toxic masculinity. Through her exploration of the work of Walter van Beirendonck, Frances played with differing attitudes towards masculinity, and the historical implications of prioritising certain forms and visions of masculinity over others.

Frances created a two-look capsule collection that layered colour and chaos onto the traditional silhouettes of private school uniforms. She developed her garments from from deadstock fabrics and used embroidery, handwritten print, and quilting to elevate her textiles.

By exposing the body and using the text of Julia Gillard’s misogyny speech as part of the textile prints, Frances also exposed the damaging and toxic cultures that persistently exist in many institutions today.
